GSW Music Hub - New Sept 2024!

Welcome to the Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire (GSW) Music Hub

The GSW Music Hub is an innovative partnership bringing together music education across three counties, serving over 800 schools and approximately 250,000 children and young people. Our vision is to ensure every child and young person across our region has access to high-quality, inclusive music education opportunities that meet local needs and allow them to fulfil their musical potential.

Our Consortium Leadership:

  • Gloucestershire County Council (Lead Organisation) - Provides overall strategic leadership and governance as the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO)
  • Gloucestershire Music - Brings extensive expertise in music education delivery and strategic development in the Gloucestershire area
  • Swindon Music Service - Brings extensive expertise in music education delivery and strategic development in the Swindon and Wiltshire area
  • The Music Works - Leads on inclusion, youth voice, and music technology initiatives with particular focus on reaching underrepresented groups

We look forward to working with all stakeholders, schools, delivery partners and music tutors across the new geographical music hub area, but most importantly we are passionate about ensuring the continuation and development of high quality, inclusive music education for all of the young people in this collective geography, both whilst this transition occurs and into the future.

Change can be challenging, but also brings exciting new horizons and invites welcome partnerships between our kindred professionals. We want to reassure everyone who is part of the current music hubs’ delivery landscape that it is our intention to maintain the established delivery models for the academic year 24/25 wherever possible, whilst meaningful needs analysis work is done over the next year.

In the meantime, if you, or any associates, wish to be part of our mailing list please email GSWMusicHub@gloucestershire.gov.uk , we’ll ensure we keep you up to date with developments.

We look forward to building on the fantastic work of the last 10+ years by the current music hubs and enabling even more young people to find or develop their musical potential in line with the National Plan for Music Education.
